Gävle is one of Sweden´s most important cities for sculpture, with a large number of works by both Swedish and non-Swedish artists. Art Among Us is a guide to public art in Gävle, with maps, photographs in colour and explanatory texts. The book reflects several different points of view. Former curators and publik art administrators from Gävle Konstcentrum, all of whom have worked with municipal art, relate their personal experiences of and insights into the histories of various pieces of public art.
