Switzerland, 1978. Swedish artist Torolf Engström spots the anonymous portrait of "a young gentleman" in a gallery. His gut tells him: "That is Mozart!" In order to prove his theory, he will need to convince the most clout-wielding professors and experts, but that is easier said than done. They have their own conceptions regarding Mozart's appearance. "He did not have a squint!" He had blue eyes!" Nevertheless, some people join Engström's cause and thus begins a thrilling academic struggle, two centuries after Mozart's death.

P-G Bergfors, paediatrician and musicologist, is a well-known author and critic in the Swedish musical arena. In recent years he has, in particular, widened our view of Mozart, the man, a recurring theme in several of his books.
